This year, Newman Athletics held the Laurie Bell Memorial 28th Annual Jet Open Charity Golf Tournament. The event began on Sunday Aug.5 with a kick-off party and fundraising auctions that drew more than 300 people. The tournament officially began on Monday Aug. 6 and had a wonderful turnout: 22 teams participated in the morning and an additional 25 teams played in the afternoon, for a grand total of 47 golf teams and 188 golfers. This year’s winning team with a score of 51 was Via Christi Sports Medicine consisting of the team players Mike Sirianni, Cam Clark, Charlie Stevens and Nick Cusick. Congratulations to the winners!
