Newman Fund Spring Phonathon raises nearly $10,000 for student scholarships

To date, the Newman Fund Spring Phonathon has raised close to $10,000 to support student scholarships. The Phonathon, which began Feb. 22 and wrapped up on March 5, raised more than $9,500 in the 12 days it ran. As with previous Phonathons, Manager of Newman Fund Blain Crouch expects donations to continue arriving in the coming days and weeks.

“The goal was at least $10,000, and it looks like we’ll far exceed it,” Crouch said about the donations.

Donating their time, students called alumni seeking support for the Newman Fund, which helps to raise money for the scholarships awarded to Newman students. Newman University would like to express its gratitude toward its alumni for their generosity in this year’s Spring Phonathon.

Including the Fall 2014 Newman Phonathon, almost $30,000 has been raised for student scholarships through the 2014-2015 academic year.
