Newman University is holding a glove and mitten drive for donation to The Salvation Army. The drive is running from Oct. 19 to Nov. 2. A freshman Traditions and Transitions (T&T) class is hosting the drive. Please place your contributions in the collection boxes around campus. For more information call 316-942-4291 ext. 2252.
Newman University is also hosting a blood drive from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, for the American Red Cross. To make an appointment to donate, contact Tina Ast at 316-942-4291 ext. 2134. Drop-ins are accepted. Photo ID is required to donate blood. The donation process takes one and a half hours to complete depending upon the busyness of the operation.

- One in 10 people entering a hospital needs blood.
- Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs a blood transfusion.
- Red blood cells must be transfused within 42 days.
