The Newman University Vantage student newspaper won 21 awards at the Kansas Collegiate Media conference April 11 at the Drury Plaza Broadview Hotel in downtown Wichita.
The paper won a silver medal for overall publication in the four-year private newspaper category. The Vantage website, www.newmanvantage.com, also won a silver medal. Former editor-in-chief Matt Riedl was the runner-up for Journalist of the Year, which he won at last year’s ceremony.
