The Newman University Music/Theatre Department will present “An Evening of Theatre” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18 and Saturday, Feb. 19, in Performance Hall of the De Mattias Fine Arts Center on the Newman campus. The evening’s entertainment will include a one act play, “The Shape of Things,” by Neil Labute, performed by Newman acting students under the direction of Matthew Rumsey. Special guests for the evening, the Derby High School Thespians, will perform the student-directed one act play, “The Day Grandma Got Mad and Squashed the Tomatoes.” In addition, Newman’s improv troupe, the Sloppy Joes, will perform throughout the evening.
Tickets for this production are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets will be available at the door beginning at 7 p.m.
