Newman University will host a “Watch Party” for Newman basketball fans who are unable to make it to Manhattan for the history-making exhibition game between the Jets and the Kansas State University Wildcats. The party will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2 in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public.
The event is jointly sponsored by the Newman Athletic Club, the Newman Alumni Association and Student Activities, and will include contests and prize drawings throughout the evening. The game’s live broadcast, which begins at 7 p.m., will be projected on the large pull-down screen in the conference center. Fox Sports-Kansas City is carrying the broadcast, which will be shown locally on Cox Cable Channel 34.
Pizza, wings and beverages will be available to those who pre-register at http://watchjetsvsksu.eventbrite.com. Beer will be served to those of legal age with a photo ID, in keeping with rules for alcohol outlined in the Newman University Student Handbook.
