Newman University holds ‘Party on the Plaza’ to raise money for student scholarships

There are only a few days remaining to get tickets for the “Party on the Plaza – New Orleans Style,” a special event to help raise money for student scholarships. The event will take place from 4:30 to 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2 on Founders Plaza, just south of the De Mattias Fine Arts Center on the Newman campus.

The Party on the Plaza at Newman UniversityThe party will feature a live auction with unique items such as the maquette of the Blessed John Henry Newman statue on the Newman campus created by Babs Mellor. Other offerings include a Christmas in New Orleans trip, a three-day, two-night stay in Naples, Fla., a romantic ride for two on a helicopter to a special dinner, and more.

Along with the live auction, the party will feature food and drink, a silent auction, a dance to the local Zydeco Cajun band The Mudbugs, and fireworks. All proceeds will benefit scholarships at Newman University.
