Listeners to BOB FM 97.1 radio got an earful of information about Newman University along with their favorite music and news the morning of Nov. 8, thanks to a live remote broadcast by DJs Trace and Cathy from Scooter’s Coffeehouse, inside the Dugan Library on the Newman campus.
The broadcast, from 6 to 9 a.m., featured interviews with Scooter’s own Tolli Rasmussen, as well as segments featuring Newman President Noreen M. Carrocci, Ph.D., Admissions Counselors Rebekah Valentine and Allison Woods, and Sports Information Director Tim Hanson. Rasmussen said the broadcast drew a large crowd – Newman cheer and dance team members and several other Newman students stopped by around 6 a.m., and approximately 65 people were in Scooter’s at 7:30, the time the coffeehouse usually opens.
“It was great to have so many people come over for this,” Rasmussen said.
Scooter’s ran a 2-for-1 special during the live broadcast.
