Newman University to host Career Fair April 2

Newman University will host a Career Fair to provide opportunities for individuals to research career fields and available positions with various area businesses and organizations. The Career Fair will take place from 3:30 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 2 in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center, inside the Dugan Library and Campus Center on the Newman University campus. The event is free and open to the public, although it is focused on current college students and Newman University alumni.

IndividualsĀ are encouraged to attend the fair in professional attire and with several copies of their resumes. By March 18, more than 35 area organizations had signed up to participate in the event with booths and representatives. Among the many exhibitors are The City of Wichita, Emprise Bank, High Touch Technologies, Koch Supply and Trading, Target, Via Christi Health, Wal-mart, Wesley Medical Center and many others.

Career Fair planners are also organizing workshops and events on campus prior to the fair to assist students with resume writing, interviewing skills, and professional preparation for the event. Scheduled events include:

Fine Arts Professional Panel and Social Mixer
March 26, 3:30-5 p.m., Alumni Reception Area of Dugan Conference Center

Resume Writing & Interviewing Workshop
March 27, Noon, Alumni Reception Area of Dugan Conference Center

Communications/Business Workshop & Social Mixer
April 11, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Alumni Reception Area of Dugan Conference Center

Exhibitors wishing to register for a booth may do so by visiting www.newmanu.edu/careerfair. Registrations will be accepted through March 26.
