Approximately 280 people enjoyed a steak dinner, music by the Zydeco Cajun Band The Mudbugs, street artists, and fireworks during the university’s first-ever “Party on the Plaza” held last weekend. “Party on the Plaza – New Orleans Style” was held to raise money for student scholarships. Newman University is grateful to the many sponsors of the event and to those who attended in order to help meet the needs of students. The fundraising totals from the evening’s activities have not yet been finalized. The university also thanks the many students, staff and alumni who graciously volunteered their time to contribute to the success of the event.
