Alumnus John E. Rapp was named 2021 Lawyer of the Year for DUI/DWI Defense in Wichita, Kansas.
Just one lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as the Lawyer of the Year, making this accolade particularly significant. Lawyers are selected based on voting averages received during peer-review assessments.
Rapp was also included in The Best Lawyers in America® 2021 Publication.
He said he was notified via email and with a letter of the honor and felt proud of his accomplishments.
Rapp graduated from Newman University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in marketing.
“Newman was a great place for me. The culture of hard work and dedication by my fellow students prepared me for the competitive atmosphere at law school,” he said.
He graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2002 with his Juris Doctor degree and had his own law firm for approximately 12 years before joining Hinkle Law Firm.
Rapp has been working at Hinkle Law Firm for the past six years. His interest in becoming a DUI defender stemmed from his work with a former mentor who was a nationally recognized DUI defender.
“I enjoy helping people who are wrongly accused or who have made mistakes. I like to try and analyze a set of facts and find out the best way to fix my client’s problems.”
Rapp said, “I am thankful to all my mentors for investing time in my development and to assist me in reaching my goals.”
