Newman University Campus Ministry will welcome Catholic singer and songwriter Sarah Kroger at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2  in St. John’s Chapel, where she will perform her new song, ‘This is my Story” among other selections.

“‘This is my Story’ is a song about claiming God’s story for us,” Kroger writes in her blog. “We may not know what the next page holds, but we know who is writing it, and because of that, we must always press on in hope.”

After visiting the campus last year where she sang several original songs, Kroger has traveled the country, performing for youth groups, conferences and retreats.

Campus Ministry Administrative Assistant Monica Borger described her experience with listening to Kroger’s performance.

“What I really appreciated about Sarah’s concert was that she makes it very personal,” Borger said. “She writes a lot of her own music and tells stories about her life and how the songs came into being. If you’ve never heard her or you’re nervous about coming, just take a chance. No matter your faith, she’s just a really fantastic musician.”

Bryan Miller, local musician and Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School band director, will open for Kroger. The concert is free and open to the public with a reception will to follow. You can learn more about Kroger and her music at sarakroger.com.
