If you’re in need of some laughs, the Sloppy Joe Improv Troupe at Newman University might just be the remedy for you.

Based on the popular improv television show, “Whose Line is it Anyway,” the Sloppy Joes play improv games and act out short skits that make their audience members roar with laughter.

Seniors John Suffield and Austin Schwartz are co-captains of the team, and are excited to welcome three first-year students to the troupe.

“I’m most looking forward to introducing these three freshmen to improv and teaching them the importance of the art form so that they have the passion to carry it on and share it for years to come,” Schwartz said.

With a few weeks of improv practice under their belts, the Sloppy Joes can’t wait to see how the audience will react to their on-the-spot comedy.

“I believe we’ve become a really strong group and I think it’s going to be a great year,” Suffield said. “For anyone who wants to come see us, you’re guaranteed a fun time.”
