Sloppy Joes for Breakfast … and Bingo

Sloppy Joes perform at Breakfast and Bingo event

The Newman University community gathered on the evening of Dec. 4 for a Sloppy Joes breakfast. While many might argue that Sloppy Joes in the evening is not a breakfast, traditional breakfast items were served, so technically, sort of, it was indeed a breakfast. The Sloppy Joes is an improv group consisting of Newman University students.

Upward of 150 people dressed in their jammies attended the event in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center while the Sloppy Joes Improv Troupe entertained the audience, with crowd participation (a.k.a. public humiliation). The Sloppy Joes performance was the last for the 2016 year.

Following the Sloppy Joes performance, attendees played Bingo games while competing for prizes. Breakfast was catered by Great Western Dining.

“This is the first time we have had ‘Breakfast and Bingo’ in the Dugan Conference Center,” said Director of Student Activities and Intramurals Megan Hemel.

Hemel says the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center allowed for enough space to host the popular event, and Student Activities will plan to use the facility again next year.
