In the very near future, Newman University students will be taking classes and working in labs inside new and renovated, state-of-the-art science, nursing and health sciences facilities – thanks to the multi-million- dollar fundraising plan, Facing Forward – A Campaign for Newman University.
Newman nursing, health sciences alumni find success at Via Christi Health
Newman University graduates of science, nursing and health science programs can be found working in a variety of jobs across the country. Many alumni, however, stay close to home and take positions in Wichita-area hospitals, clinics and other health care facilities. One large employer of Newman alums is Via Christi Health.
‘Transformational’ event kicks off Facing Forward public campaign
What was billed as a “transformational” event more than lived up to its name, when more than 260 people gathered on Feb. 6 to honor the Most Rev. Eugene J. Gerber, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Wichita, and learn about the Facing Forward campaign.
Second annual Heritage Month offers variety of events
The second annual Heritage Month featured a number of speakers, religious observations, presentations and other events, as Newman University celebrated the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, John Henry Cardinal Newman, and the university’s Catholic tradition. The events began with a Mass for St. Maria De Mattias on Feb. 4, her birthday.
Dr. Michael and Carm Ludlow honored with 2016 Cardinal Newman Medal
Michael earned an undergraduate chemistry degree in 1978 at Kansas Newman College, then proceeded to the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He has practiced at West Wichita Family Physicians since 1985.
