The Catholic Diocese of Wichita will host a showing of the documentary “The Miracle of Father Kapaun” by Wichita Eagle videographer Travis Heying at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, in Performance Hall, inside the De Mattias Fine Arts Center at Newman University.
Father Emil Kapaun was a Kansas priest and Korean War hero from Pilsen who led an extraordinary life and may be on the road to sainthood. He has been nominated for the Medal of Honor and could become just the third American-born Roman Catholic saint. His story was presented in an eight-part series by the Eagle which concluded Sunday, Dec. 13. Read more at www.kansas.com/kapaun/.
