Jun 14, 2012

Several members of the Newman community attended a dinner held by the Wichita Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, of which Newman University is a proud Deans Circle donor. The event, Embracing Diversity, was the WHCC’s 10th Annual Awards and Scholarship Recognition Dinner where each year they award students the prestigious Kansas Hispanic Scholarship Program scholarship.

This year they announced that during the 2012-13 academic year The Kansas Hispanic Scholarship Program is providing $46,315 in new scholarships for thirty-nine college-bound Latino students. Among the thirty-nine awarded at the dinner, 3 are future Newman University students. Those awarded are Dayanna Huerta, Gabriela Olivas, and Pilar Orozco. Newman congratulates these students on their prestigious achievement!
