The month of October was filled with alumni, student and family events. Kansas City-area alumni gathered at two receptions, the university hosted the “Newman U. at Dodge Brew” event in Dodge City, and Family Weekend was staged on the Newman campus. View the photos on the NU Web site.
Kansas City-area alumni hosted two social gatherings featuring Newman University President Noreen M. Carrocci, Ph.D. One took place Friday, Oct. 2 in the Barrel Room at the JP Wine Bar in Leawood, Kan., which was hosted by Kevin Blick ’05 and Tim Belsan ’05. The other took place Saturday, Oct. 3 and was hosted by Liz (Ludlow) ’82 and Mike Di Silvestro, and their daughter Maggie ’11 at their home in Leawood.
The “Newman U. at Dodge Brew” event was held Sat., Oct. 17, at the Hoover Pavilion in Dodge City. Newman University officials visited with members of the community about higher education needs in Western Kansas while sampling seasonal brews from Anheuser-Busch and appetizers by local chefs. The event benefitted Western Kansas student scholarships.
Family Weekend was held Oct. 23, 24 and 25 on the Newman campus. Students, faculty, staff and family members enjoyed games, snacks, Newman soccer, a country music concert, and a host of other activities throughout the three-day event.
