A new website and hashtag for Newman University launched on Saturday, Feb. 6 to support and promote its Facing Forward campaign: NewmanFF.com and #NUFacingForward.
Social media is playing a large role in helping boost the campaign to reach its goal of $30 million. Whether on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, Newman University is asking supporters and donors to use the hashtag #NUFacingForward when talking about the campaign or the upcoming Bishop Gerber Science Center. The hashtag includes no spaces and must be spelled in this exact way to connect with the other Facing Forward social content and community. Newman University is also counting on students to use #NUFacingForward to help spread the word and to reach the fundraising goal.
Those heading the campaign emphasized that sharing the website and using the hashtag are essential parts of the group effort to reach $30 million by Jan. 12, 2017. The Bishop Gerber Science Center will benefit not only the students at Newman, but it will also provide the community with qualified healthcare professionals for generations to come.
For this reason, Newman University is reaching out not only to its alumni and donors, but also to the student community and their power to spread the word.
