The Newman University Women’s Golf team just won its second tournament of the season at the Lady Buff Stampede on Oct. 6-7 at La Paloma Golf Club. The Lady Jets are now two for two after starting the season winning the Concho River Classic on Sept. 16 hosted by Angelo State University.
During the Lady Buff Stampede tournament, Junior Courtney Zietsman tied for first place with a score of 142 but lost the title in the third playoff hole for top medalist honors. With her performance, Zietsman received the Heartland Player of the Week honors.
Freshman Julie Bernard finished third with a score of 143 while senior Kendall Anderson was finishing in sixth place with a total score of 148. Emily Aird and Josie Jenkins ended the tournament with scores of 167 and 159 respectively.
