Newman Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Michael Austin’s book Reading the World: Ideas That Matter has been adopted as a textbook for composition classes at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Mo. The book, now in its second edition, includes 72 readings by thinkers from around the world and is designed to give undergraduate college composition students a global perspective on a variety of topics. The second edition also provides overviews and detailed notes on each reading to help make the texts more accessible for undergraduate readers.
