Justin Edwards Constitution Day speaker

On September 19, Deputy District Attorney Justin Edwards gave a speech about our Constitution and held a Q&A for the faculty and staff.

Justin Edwards graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2000 where he obtained his Juris Doctorate, and is now chief trial attorney with the Office of the District Attorney, Eighteenth Judicial District of Kansas (Sedgwick County).

He now fights alongside the Constitution prosecuting felony crimes, including crimes of sexual, domestic and deadly violence. In his speech, Edwards gave a broad overview going through the first through sixth amendments and how they affect law enforcement and the court system.

“Overall, the talk was engaging for participants and very educational on how criminal courts work,” Newman History Club President Diana Stanley said.
