On Nov. 13 and 14, Newman University will stage the second in a series of four Mission Talks dedicated to the memory of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ five Martyrs of Charity: Mary Joel Kolmer, ASC; Shirley Kolmer, ASC; Kathleen McGuire, ASC; Agnes Mueller, ASC, and Barbara Ann Muttra, ASC. These five ASC sisters were murdered 20 years ago while performing mission work in Liberia, West Africa. The November Mission Talks presentations will feature Fran Schumer, ASC, who will speak on her experience as director of communications for the ASC at the time of the martyrdom.
Mission Talk times and locations:
- Noon Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the Tarcisia Roths, ASC Alumni Center inside the Dugan Library and Campus Center. A complimentary lunch will be provided for the noon talk for the first 40 people that RSVP.
- 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the Jabara Theatre inside the De Mattias Fine Arts Center.
