Whether you commute, have lived in the same residence hall all four years or are just downright curious, chances are good that you have wondered what the inside of the residence halls at Newman look like. The following photo tour gives an inside look at every residence hall on campus.

Carrocci Hall

This freshman-exclusive dorm was blessed in 2007, opened in 2008, and named Carrocci Hall in 2016. Originally called New Hall, this building houses students with the hopes of allowing them to form relationships with others in their first-year class.

Carrocci is traditional suite style, meaning there are two bedrooms that share a common bathroom on all three floors. The first floor even has a Quiet Study Room, making Carrocci the only hall to feature that type of space.

Room amenities include extra-long twin beds, three-drawer dressers, computer desks with chairs, cable and high-speed internet.

(Capacity: 144 residents and three resident assistants, or RAs)

Beata Hall

This dorm is primarily home to sophomores and a few juniors but is available for all upperclassman. Beata was dedicated and opened in 2000 and named in 2005.

Beata is set up in pod style. This means there are individual bedrooms that share a double bathroom, communal living room and kitchenette.

Pod amenities include five bedrooms, two bathrooms, height-adjustable twin beds, small three-drawer dressers, desk and chair, living room, kitchenette, two storage closets, full-sized refrigerator and microwave, cable TV and high-speed internet.

(Capacity: 60 residents and two RAs)

Merlini Hall

Merlini is the oldest residence hall on campus and was first built and used in 1967. This dorm is used by upperclassman and includes a mix of classes.

Merlini, like Carrocci Hall, is set up in traditional suite style. Two bedrooms share a common bathroom on both floors.

Suite amenities include extra-long twin beds, computer desk and chair, cable, phone, and wireless internet.

(Capacity: 121 residents and two RAs)

Fugate Hall

This dorm is almost exclusively seniors but is available for all upperclassman. It was blessed in 2007 and officially opened in 2008.

Fugate has two-bedroom furnished apartments and a select number of four-bedroom furnished apartments.

Apartment amenities include two bedrooms (605 square feet.) or four bedrooms (995 square feet), extra-long twin beds, three-drawer dresser, computer desk and chair, couch, overstuffed chair, end table, stove, full-size refrigerator, kitchen table and chairs, cable and wireless internet service.

(Capacity: 80 residents, one RA, Father Fog and his dog, Tucker)
