Feb 26, 2015

National touring singer/songwriter Luke Spehar will help bring the first Heritage Month to a close with a free concert, March 4, 2015 at 8 p.m.

Luke SpeharThe concert will be held in St. John’s Chapel in Sacred Heart Hall. Spehar will also provide the music for Mass following the concert.

Spehar is currently traveling the upper Midwest for his All Is Gift Tour 2015.

Growing up in a rural Minnesota town, Spehar spent most of time hunting, fishing and playing various school sports. He found his passion for guitar playing as a sophomore in high school and soon began writing his own music.

On his website, Spehar shares, “People started asking me if I had an album or if I was going to make one. At first I was hesitant due to my selfish desire to keep the music to myself under the excuse that they were just my songs. As I grew up, though, I realized that the music was not just my own and that I needed to share what I had been given.”

Spehar recorded his first album, Be Still, as a senior in college seminary while discerning the priesthood.

His desire to share the music “the Lord had given him” grew after the initial CD project was completed and led Spehar to his music ministry and away from the seminary.

Spehar has recorded two more albums, No other Way and All Is Gift. You can listen to samples of his music on his website, or from this YouTube link.
