The Newman women’s volleyball team will have their first conference match at home against St. Edwards on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m.
With an overall score of 12-5 and a conference score of 1-1, coach Destiny Clark says, “I think it will be a successful season for us.” Coming from a state record and a winning streak last year, Clark hopes to build upon that success and even step it up. Clark said pridefully, “We got a taste of success and we want more!”
Emily Harvey, who is part of the volleyball team says that “we need to work on stringing points together whether we are in the lead or behind, we need to keep pushing until the finish. If we play our game, we should win.”
Clark’s goal for the team is to be successful year to year. “hopefully when you think of Wichita Volleyball, you don’t just think of Wichita State,” Clark adds.
