Author David Brin gives lecture on the art of looking ahead

On Oct. 14, futurist and science-fiction author David Brin gave a public lecture entitled “Neutralizing Nightmares: How We Prevent Dark Tomorrows … By Imagining Them.” Brin's lecture to students, faculty, staff, and the general public included remarks about a few of his books. Brin has published over 50 novels, one of which was adapted to a movie. Brin also spoke about his friend, the late Ray Bradbury, and his novel Fahrenheit 451, which has been the common read for Newman freshmen this year.

Impressive that we can get a writer of Brin's stature to appear at Newman!
