Catholic Social teaching presentation

Join us in welcoming the 2023 inaugural speaker Father Kammer for a mission presentation focused on Catholic Social Teaching! Everyone is invited to learn about his vision and commitment in his evening presentation, “Four Steps to Solidarity: Catholic Thought and Social Systems,” at 7 p.m. in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Room on campus. Father Kammer is both a canon and civic lawyer.

He also is giving a noon presentation in the Sister Tarcisia Roths Alumni Center, Dugan Library for faculty and staff called “Scripture and Catholic Social Thought.” This event is co-sponsored by the Gerber Institute.

About Father Kammer

Father Kammer SJ was President/CEO of Catholic Charities USA for 10 years. He has authored three books, the fourth edition of his first book, “Doing Faithjustice: An Introduction to Catholic Social Thought” was published in June 2023. Father Kammer is committed to actions that effect positive changes in the lives of those on the margins and advocating for systemic change. A native of New Orleans, he guides post-Katrina recovery and service to the devastated poor and needy. He founded and directed the Jesuit Social Research Institute at Loyola University New Orleans. Father Kammer is widely sought to speak about Catholic Social Teaching and doing Faithjustice.
