Six student-athletes from Newman University received Heartland Conference “Player of the Week” kudos in March. Freshman outfielder Tyler Bugner was named Baseball Hitter of the Week on March 3, and senior Kirstie Symon was named Women’s Tennis Player of the Week on March 17 and again on March 24. Junior Kendall Anderson was named Women’s Golf Player of the Week March 26 and junior Charles Mommaerts was selected Men’s Golf Player of the Week, also on March 26. Other student-athletes receiving honors were senior Zak Mickens, who was named Baseball Pitcher of the Week on March 31, and senior Evgeniy Kim, who was Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, also on March 31.
Also in March, sophomore Alexandra Ciabattoni was named the Heartland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.
