Western Kansas alumni of science and health science programs to meet Jan. 25

Newman University alumni with degrees in the sciences, nursing and allied health programs who live in the southwestern part of Kansas are invited to celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the founding of Newman University and the beginning of science academic programs at Newman.

The Newman University Steckline Gallery will present “Kansas: The Lost Art of Looking” by Bob Benson and Robin Lies as the fifth show of its 2013-2014 season.

Last chance to apply for Spring 2014 classes

With less than one week before classes begin, now is the time to apply for the Spring 2014 semester. A late fee of $100 will be charged for registration Jan. 21 – 24.  All students, undergraduate, graduate, and adult, may enroll by either standard paper registration or through the online application. Classes begin Jan. 13.

Newman University to stage 24-Hour Theatre Jan. 31 – Feb. 1

The Newman University Theatre Department is preparing to stage the third annual 24-hour Theatre Project. The activity will begin Friday, Jan. 31 and finish with performances of original productions at 8 p.m. Feb. 1, in the Jabara Flexible Theatre, inside the De Mattias Fine Arts Center on the Newman campus.

Newman University students receive Forty & Eight nursing scholarships

Newman University nursing students Tabitha Attreau and Jared Hunsaker each received a $500 scholarship to continue their studies from Forty & Eight, an independent military veterans charitable organization. Attreau, an El Dorado, Kan., native, and Hunsaker, from Wichita, received the Charles E. Bell Nurses Training Scholarship at a special ceremony at Newman Nov. 22.
