Mission Talks to celebrate Newman’s beatification

The upcoming Mission Talks scheduled in October will be held in celebration and honor of the recent Beatification of John Henry Cardinal Newman. Charlotte Rohrbach, ASC, director of Mission Effectiveness and Archives, along with other Newman representatives who attended the special England ceremonies, will serve as presenters.

Upcoming October events

October brings with it several interesting events to be held on Newman’s campus. The first is “Beyond Notre Dame’s Walls: Reading Great Books with the Homeless,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 in the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center presented by Stephan Fallon, Ph.D., chairperson of the Program of Liberal Studies at Notre Dame’s Great Books Department.

Newman Jets vs. K-State Wildcats

For the second consecutive season, the Newman University men’s basketball program will open its season with an exhibition game against an NCAA Division I opponent. The Jets will travel to Manhattan, Kan., on Tuesday, Nov. 2 for a 7 p.m. exhibition contest with the Kansas State Wildcats inside KSU’s Bramlage Coliseum.

Campus Closed for Fall Break

Newman University will close next week, Friday, Oct. 15 at noon for fall break. The university will resume regular business hours on Monday, Oct. 18.

Oct. 2 ‘Party’ draws crowd to Founders Plaza to raise funds for scholarships

Newman University to introduce new mascot Sept. 27 with a surprise entrance

Newman University will introduce the new Jets mascot with a surprise entrance during halftime of the 7 p.m. women’s soccer game against the Ottawa University Braves on Monday, Sept. 27 at Wilkins Field on the Newman campus. Face-painting and tailgating will take place before the game, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
