Jets give Mark Potter win number 200

Newman University men’s basketball head coach Mark Potter recorded his 200th career victory after the Jets routed York College, 119-68 Saturday evening at Fugate Gymnasium. Two Honorary Degrees to Be Awarded at Newman University Fall 2008 Graduation Ceremonies

Newman University will hold the Fall 2008 Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement ceremony on Dec. 12 and Dec. 13, respectively. The university will also honor two members of the religious community by awarding them honorary degrees during the Commencement exercises.

Spring ’09 Registration

The spring 2009 online course schedule is now available. Registration for the spring semester begins Oct. 20. Printed schedules will also be available that day. The priority registration schedule is as follows:

Ablah Award Recipients Honored At Luncheon

Recently graduated Newman University students Amanda Stanley of Goddard, Kan., and Daniel Bryan of Tulsa, Okla., were honored at a July 17 luncheon as recipients of the Leona J. and Harvey J. Ablah Awards, respectively.

Kansas Humanities Council Grant to Help Fund 75th Anniversary

The Kansas Humanities Council (KHC) has awarded a $13,375 grant to help fund selective areas in Newman University’s 75th Anniversary Celebration. The funds will help support the Alumni Association’s “Operation Book Drop” and the 75th Heritage Exhibit – “Triumph of the Spirit.”
