Jets give Mark Potter win number 200
Newman University men’s basketball head coach Mark Potter recorded his 200th career victory after the Jets routed York College, 119-68 Saturday evening at Fugate Gymnasium. Two Honorary Degrees to Be Awarded at Newman University Fall 2008 Graduation Ceremonies
Newman University will hold the Fall 2008 Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement ceremony on Dec. 12 and Dec. 13, respectively. The university will also honor two members of the religious community by awarding them honorary degrees during the Commencement exercises.

Kansas Humanities Council Grant to Help Fund 75th Anniversary
The Kansas Humanities Council (KHC) has awarded a $13,375 grant to help fund selective areas in Newman University’s 75th Anniversary Celebration. The funds will help support the Alumni Association’s “Operation Book Drop” and the 75th Heritage Exhibit – “Triumph of the Spirit.”

New Campus Mall Photos, Construction Up-date
Construction continues to move forward on the Newman University Campus Mall. The new parking lot and west portion of the mall have been completed and irrigation and landscaping work has begun.

Cheer on the Jets Through ‘Little Cheer’
Girls in grades K-6 are invited to help the Newman University Cheer Squad root for the Jets through “Little Cheer.” Little Cheer will include a day camp, a practice and a performance in which the Newman Squad will teach participants games, cheers and a dance.
School of Science and Mathematics Receives $9,272 Grant
The School of Science and Mathematics at Newman University was selected to receive a 2008 Pittsburgh Conference Memorial National College Grant (PCMNCG). Newman’s proposal was one of the 13 selected for funding from the 66 proposals received for consideration.
